The world of viticulture and winemaking was a defining element of our family’s life, even our grandparents were engaged in this profession. Horváth Wine House (Horváth Borház) is a family business founded in the winter of 1999.
Our plantations are spread over nearly 18 hectares, mainly on the southern slopes of Tagyon Hill, on a first-class volcanic soil, in the middle of the Nivegy Valley with its excellent microclimate.
Our wines are made using traditional wooden barrels and reductive technology as well. In our winery -which follows modern and gentle technological principles- we produce wines which meet the high-quality requirements typical of this wine region by controlled fermentation and cooling.
Buying wine is a matter of trust – so we try to gain this trust by doing everything from the cultivation of the fruit to the sale of the wine in an artisanal way.
Our goal is to retain the old traditions of our family, that is why we consider it as our philosophy, to preserve the naturalness of wine: instead of using chemical substances, we prefer physical wine treatment.
