The 2,584-kilometre-long National Blue Trail is part of the Blue Trail hiking route, which includes a small part of the beautiful Nivegy Valley.
The pleasant section starts from Balatonhenye and takes about two hours to complete the 6.2-kilometre stage. Good to know that the route avoids the surrounding panoramic areas of Lake Balaton, typically passing through wooded areas. The stamping point is located on a wooden pole in front of the Forest School in Balatoncsicsó. This point on Fenyves Hill also offers a table and bench for those who wish to rest.
Following the completion of the additional 7.9-kilometer section, hikers can reach Nagyvázsony and the impressive Kinizsi Castle, which was renovated in 2023. These two sections are among the easier routes, so less experienced hikers can also enjoy the natural beauty and cultural attractions.
Recommended parking places for approaching Section NBT -06 (OKT-06): Nagyvázsony and Badacsonytördemic-Szigliget railway station.
